Hong Kong’s authoritative dining guidebook recognised the best by judges of world Food Culture award event

Food is often rated the top criterion for travelling to a destination, and Hong Kong’s authoritative dining guide, 100 Top Tables, has won the category of “Best Food Tourism Book / Cities” at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards Ceremony 2019.

Established since 1995, the Gourmand Awards are the world’s major food culture event, and its Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2019 are open to a wide variety of online and offline food culture publications. According to its organisers, “There is no comparable international cultural event in the world, except the Olympics.”

Authored by Tracey Furniss (Deputy Editor, Specialist Publications, Advertising & Marketing Solutions, South China Morning Post), SCMP’s annually published 100 Top Tables - a CEO Dining Guide has become the city’s go-to authority for the gourmet elite looking for award-winning cuisine with the best service, ambience, wine lists and spectacular views of the city. The guidebook has seven categories of cuisine - Chinese, Western, French, Italian, Japanese, Steak and Grills, and East meets West - with quick guides to valet parking, views and private dining rooms. The guidebook names the top 100 restaurants in Hong Kong and 20 in Macau every year, and its impartial, handpicked entries are collated from reviews by SCMP’s food critics and lifestyle experts.

100 Top Tables is distributed to SCMP print subscribers, and a selected VIP database including business owners, listed companies, professionals, entrepreneurs and C-suite readers. It is also sold at major bookstores and supermarkets in Hong Kong, with display copies at a number of premium airport and hotel lounges in Asia and select recreation clubs. In Macau, it is available at selected membership clubs and deluxe restaurants, on private jets, and at airport lounges. The guidebook is also available in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
