Industry News
Invitation-only event featured top China and Hong Kong technology companies and leaders and offered sophisticated clients an engaging glimpse into the future of tech investment

As a regular advertiser for SCMP’s print and digital platforms, Deutsche Bank Wealth Management is thoroughly aware of SCMP’s competence in helping the private bank communicate market value. To support its branding and generate leads, the Bank wanted a more hands-on, engaging experience for current and prospective clients, which would reinforce its positioning as a thought leader in wealth management, as well as innovation and digital transformation.

Morning Studio, SCMP’s one-stop creative arm dedicated to the content development and events for reaching prime market audiences, handled the project, proposing a premium event featuring top-tier speakers at a suitably elegant venue, all catering to a sophisticated audience.

To develop the overall game plan, the Morning Studio team utilised “China Tech” as the event theme in alignment with Deutsche Bank’s positioning strategy, and to optimally leverage SCMP’s own expertise as one of the region’s pioneers in business and technology leadership.

Some of Morning Studio’s main challenges included bringing in renowned speakers, as expected by the client, and giving a top-notch experience to the sophisticated guests. With SCMP’s unparalleled network and savvy planning, both mission-critical goals were achieved.

The Morning Studio team also managed all onsite productions (such as backdrops, displays, audio/sound systems, live feeding), event logistics, photography and video shooting services (so Deutsche Bank could capture and maximise value from the event), liaising with the venue, vendors and all speakers. Additionally, editorial team members developed all the summit’s topics and questions.|

Post event coverage to boost this Deutsche Bank summit’s visibility encompassed a half-page print ad in SCMP’s Business section, SCMP.com and post-event promotion via LinkedIn.

The approximately 100 ultrahigh-net-worth investors attending the event had the rare opportunity to engage with some of the best tech companies from Hong Kong and mainland China, and technology thought leaders.

Savio Kwan (former president and chief operating officer of the Alibaba Group, CEO and founding partner of A&K Consulting) presented as keynote speaker, and his presence was a big draw.

Joining Savio Kwan in a panel discussion was Peter Davies (head of international business development, DiDi), with Chua Kong Ho (technology editor, SCMP) moderating the insightful discussion.

Exhibitors included start-up companies Win Win Industrial, Find Solution Ai and Steam Building, with the founders of latter two giving “Startup Talks” on stage to offer another dimension to this riveting event.

Ultimately, Deutsche Bank expressed great appreciation for this well-planned and well-executed event, and was thoroughly satisfied with the results.
