Panellists explore implications of digital privacy for Asia and how to prepare for new regulations
The concept of privacy is constantly being redefined and challenged in our evolving digital age. The South-East Asia and India chapter of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) hosted a panel discussion between opinion leaders and attendees on how the issue has been received in Asia, and how the region has prepared itself for regulations with global reach.
Held on July 11 at the office of the Dentsu Aegis Network in Singapore’s Guoco Tower, the “Privacy Preppers - are we ready for the storm?” panel discussion explored a raft of topics including changes to privacy regulations affecting the industry in Asia, fallout from the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), how Asian enterprises can be better custodians of user data, and technical subjects such as the impact of Web browser changes on utilisation of third-party cookies.
