LANDMARK Experiential and Print Media Campaigns win Spark Awards
Completing its fifth edition this year, The Spark Awards were organised by Marketing magazine to celebrate innovative achievements from Hong Kong’s top media companies across content, client engagement, new media and programming initiatives.
Judges comprised mainly of heads of marketing at distinguished companies, who assessed campaigns and strategies spanning Hong Kong’s media industry, including for audience engagement, subscriptions, content, research, events, programming and technology.
Winners were announced at a ceremony and gala dinner at Hotel ICON on August 10, 2018, with SCMP Marketing Solutions winning the Gold Award for Best Media Campaign in the Experiential category for the “LANDMARK Christmas 2017” campaign, and a Bronze Award for Best Media Campaign in the Print category, for the LANDMARK “A Year of Wisdom” campaign.
The award for the Experiential category recognises brands that have delivered an experiential campaign for clients via an event, roadshow or sponsorship activity. SCMP’s winning LANDMARK Christmas campaign revolved around a spectacular display within Hong Kong’s foremost luxury mall in Central with the theme of “Unlock your imagination at LANDMARK” and aimed at local customers and tourists, especially from mainland China. The SCMP team handled the entire project from concept development, video creation and copywriting through in-mall displays, signage, information terminals, Christmas craft cards and balloons to the supporting eDMs, digital banners, an interactive game, the campaign website and the LANDMARK app.
The award for the Print category recognises the most creative, innovative and/or effective print campaigns/solutions from a media owner for its clients to engage their audience and drive commercial value. SCMP’s winning branding campaign called “A Year of Wisdom” delivered a fresh new image for LANDMARK as a leading luxury shopping destination in Central. Opening with a full SCMP newspaper wrapper and new in-mall decorations, the campaign featured popular cartoonist Harry Harrison’s musings on wisdom, which appear in the SCMP and on the LANDMARK website throughout the year. From initial brainstorming to final implementation, SCMP Marketing Solutions was intimately involved in every stage to ensure new imagery and materials consistently brought LANDMARK’s theme to life.
