SCMP’s branded content arm among global winners honoured for inspiring, effective and creative work that helps organisations achieve goals through great, non-disruptive storytelling.
Morning Studio – the South China Morning Post’s dedicated branded content arm – claimed three prizes at last week’s annual Native Advertising Awards 2021, which recognises the best native advertising content from around the world.
The online ceremony, hosted by the Native Advertising Institute, based in Denmark, saw Morning Studio win the Bronze award in the category of Native Advertising Agency/Studio of the Year (over 20 employees) after being recognised for its range of offerings, featuring innovative integrated solutions, and revenue growth, despite the continuing economic challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It also claimed Bronze awards in two other categories – the Most Creative Native Advertising Campaign, for its Uncover Art Macao multimedia content series created for the Macao Government Tourism Office, and the Best Series of Sponsored Videos for its Persevering Preservations: Singapore Stories, produced for the Singapore Tourism Board.
The Uncover Art Macao campaign involved a seven-part native content series featuring a mix of video interviews and articles, together with an interactive map, to help showcase Macao’s local arts and cultural attractions and reposition it as a new arts and culture hub ahead of Art Macao, the city's first five-month-long festival in 2019.

Persevering Preservations: Singapore Stories, was an engaging video-driven series with stories highlighting the heritage and traditions of Singapore and its people – focused on the four themes of strength, resilience, solidarity and unity.

Karrie Lam, vice-president of sales and marketing solutions at SCMP, said: “It has been an unprecedented year over the past 12 months, but I am very proud to see our efforts being recognised at this year’s Native Advertising Awards.”
“We could not have done it without our dedicated team, who have a deep understanding of how to help brands create messages that resonate with their audiences – and more excellent work is yet to come.”
