November’s Coffee Festival launches breakfast-and-lunch weekday format, with December’s focus on beer and Organic Food Festival in new year

Since the start of November, Morning Studio – South China Morning Post’s creative arm for brands – has been helping Hongkongers enjoy a new five-days-a-week taste of exquisite flavours in Tong Chong Street – the favourite street food market for the city’s lovers of great cuisine.
The market at Taikoo Place, Swire Properties’ flagship site in Quarry Bay, is now open every Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2.30pm.

Taikoo Place is home to more than 300 international companies from a range of different sectors across nine office buildings, which feature hi-tech facilities and enriching community programmes.

Throughout November, the aroma of freshly roasted and brewed coffee beans at the market has been casting a spell on the Taikoo Place community.

The month-long Coffee Festival has introduced eight local coffee experts and features four award-winning roasters from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, who serve freshly brewed coffee from breakfast to lunchtime.

Curated by the Morning Studio team, a diverse range of food and beverage and packaged food stalls provide the chance to sample exciting culinary delights during weekdays.

December’s focus will be all about beer, while in the new year, health-conscious epicureans can dive into the Organic Food Festival running from January to February.

After five years of working together, Swire Properties trusts Morning Studio’s event management expertise and know-how to put together successful large-scale happenings.

On behalf of the client, the Morning Studio team handled the pre-event coordination and has taken care of the on-site management.

As the Tong Chong Street Market has morphed into a weekday event, focusing on both breakfast and lunch, it was crucial to adjust the original concept.

Swire Properties and Morning Studio have carefully selected a much higher-quality and more varied mix of vendors that are able to cater to all tastes.

The Morning Studio team, who are always up for a challenge, succeeded in obtaining the licences for more than 60 food vendors.

Morning Studio has promoted the event using South China Morning Post’s online and social channels. The campaign has consisted of e-banners on the SCMP mobile app and site, posts on the SCMP News and SCMP Lifestyle Facebook sites as well as Morning Studio Instagram and LinkedIn stories.

The success of the campaign speaks for itself: the new Tong Chong Street market concept has already delivered a record high footfall of more than 11,000 daily visitors.
