SCMP and Morning Studio give Jumpstarter a Flying Start
Jumpstarter’s annual platform brings start-ups and entrepreneurs together with investors, corporates and the public to “build, empower and boost Hong Kong’s start-up ecosystem”.
The SCMP was tasked with developing catchy topics for panel discussions for this year’s Jumpstarter event, held on January 23 and 24. Two months before the event, Morning Studio, the SCMP’s new branded content division, was asked to produce branded content for a custom-built channel called Flying Start.
The SCMP team went to work, providing strategic planning services for several stimulating panel discussion topics. Meanwhile, Morning Studio researched and wrote two long articles for the Flying Start channel. The first explored corporate innovation and how businesses in the financial services, smart city and advanced technology sectors are exploring ways to support start-ups and becoming more agile. The second delved into the story of five Asian start-ups competing for awards at the January Jumpstarter event. The article included content promotion elements to drive traffic and public votes for the start-ups.
Flying Start was given high visibility through distribution on other SCMP channels, with posts on the SCMP news Facebook page, eDM blasts to targeted scmp.com subscribers, and 200,000 banner ad impressions on scmp.com. The team also provided creative design and production services for the banner.
