SCMP ranked among Best in Data-driven Business Process Efficiency and recognised for Excellence in Data Analytics
At the Biggies Awards, a component of the Big Data Media Conference held for the first time in Hong Kong on December 7 and 8, SCMP placed second in the category for Best in Data-driven Business Process Efficiency, and was presented an Award of Excellence in Data Analytics. SCMP was among 20 finalists from seven countries and 11 companies headquartered across Asia-Pacific.
Conceived in 2013 as a global conference for media and advertising executives, and Big Data practitioners, the conference focused on the best practices for leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence technologies to engage audiences and grow revenue.
Companies were ranked in the Data-driven Business Process Efficiency category based on their innovative and strategic data analytics projects or strategies that go beyond collecting audience data, and proactively leverage data to identify engagement, monetisation or uncover other value.
The Award of Excellence in Data Analytics recognised successful projects that created measurable business efficiencies, such as cost savings, speed improvement, automation or wastage reduction.
SCMP’s own Big Data experts also shared insights at the conference, with Korey Lee, director of analytics and insights, speaking on how SCMP’s expanding team of data scientists and analysts harnesses data, mine insights and generate data-driven decisions with an eye toward making audience data actionable. Malcolm Ong, head of product, spoke about creating artificial intelligence-enabled media products that deliver the right content, to the right users, in the right way.
