Dedicated content for Leisure and Cultural Services Department covers current and upcoming live performances

Following last year’s successful production and promotion of a dedicated Africa Festival channel, this year the HKSAR’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) again sought the assistance of SCMP’s Content Specialists to create a broader dedicated LCSD channel encompassing all of the department’s programmes.

Unique storytelling ability, in-depth content creation and editorial skills in sourcing and conducting insightful interviews were key traits underpinning the LCSD’s decision to again work with the SCMP team.

Five intriguing articles have been produced and placed online, covering performances of interest to Hong Kong audiences looking for unique cultural experiences: Michael Keegan-Dolan’s acclaimed version of Swan Lake, immersive theatre shows that blur reality and fantasy, Shanghai-born Du Yun’s Pulitzer-winning fantasy opera on human trafficking, literally out-of-this-world and deep-sea musical performances, and literary works that have been reinterpreted into dance narratives.

Three additional articles will promote upcoming LCSD programmes, including: Buddha Passion (September 28), Guan Yu’s Ride of 1000 Miles (October 5) and ArtSnap (October 19).

The SCMP team produced all the content for the LCSD, including layout design, content sourcing plus interviews, and article write-ups. To drive awareness for this LCSD dedicated channel, SCMP leveraged  Facebook posts, eDM and banners to drive traffic.

With the new dedicated channel, the LCSD has a specific online platform where it can profile its various cultural programmes and serve up the content for Hong Kongers to conveniently peruse and learn more about these captivating cultural happenings right in their hometown that they might otherwise overlook.
